THE Eskvale and Cleveland League is beginning to take shape as three of the new teams lead with unbeaten starts from their first three games.

Great Ayton United Royals lead the way on goal difference following victory at Nunthorpe Athletic on top of their win over Loftus Athletic last week.

A strong side, they are already looking difficult to beat, although the other two unbeaten sides are breathing down their necks.

Stokesley Sports Club have enjoyed wins over Hinderwell and Lealholm, while Redcar Athletic Reserves remain in contact after wins over Brotton Railway Arms and Great Ayton United, who have slipped to consecutive defeats following their opening day victory.

Loftus Athletic are fourth after bouncing back from a mauling off Great Ayton United Royals with a defeat of Great Ayton and Dormanstown opened their account for the season with a 3-1 win at Boosbeck, but Lealholm, Hinderwell and Lakes United are yet to get off the mark. …
