STAND-UP paddleboard angler Andrew Prowd is hooking big fish again but in typical fisherman's style was tight-lipped about where he catches them.

All he would say was "off Double Island Point".

On the hook on Thursday was an 18kg golden trevally.

"It was kinda tasty last night," Andrew said.

Andrew and mate Grant McFarlane paddled their boards out Thursday even though the weather had taken a turn for the worse.

"We've been out in 30-knot winds, and for two hours in the rain and storms and winds," he said.

"That's when the fish get excited."

Grant also caught a golden trevally from the same school, also weighing in at 18kg.

Andrew says he loves fishing with his mate because it doubles their chance of success.

"If one of us catches something and the other doesn't, we halve the catch anyway to feed both our families," he said.

In addition to fishing from their 'SUPs' Andrew and Grant do the occasionally spear fishing but Andrew was quick to stress the pair only take what they need. …
