The Solution to Tired-Looking Walls

Article excerpt

IT'S a fact of life in the North East that our climate can frequently be a tad chilly, wet and windy and now that we're approaching autumn we may as well throw in frosty too.

Before you know it the clocks will go back then snow and ice won't be too far away.

All of this rotten weather takes a heavy toll on bricks and mortar. Take a close look at your bricks. Have they started to flake? Is there any cracking? Are you starting to spot dampness coming through from outside? Has the cement mortar started to lose its smooth face and become increasingly porous? Have you needed to patch areas of wall? Sadly, these are all the effect of wind, rain, ice, snow and, yes, warm sunshine. Over the course of 12 months, your house walls take a pounding from the all the elements.

Not only can this cause water to seep through to the interior walls, it can also cause mould, rot any hidden woodwork and become downright unsightly. All of these problems will affect the value and appearance of your property.

But how about if there were a solution to these problems that turns cracked, chipped, patched, leaking and crumbling walls into something that looks as though it was only built very recently and is maintenance free? Too good to be true? Not any longer, thanks to Render Solutions Ltd.

Render Solutions is the largest rendering company in the North East and, with more than 35 years in the business, it is also one of the most experienced.

How does Render Solutions work its magic? First of all, a coat of speciallyformulated render is spread across the surface of the wall. Unless you specify differently, it will be the same colour as ordinary mortar. This is then followed by another coat of render which is skimmed over the previous surface. After that, it is up to you what sort of appearance you would like.

For example, if you would like to have a brick effect, then the upper render will be brick coloured and, while it dries, the Render Solutions team will remove rows of the top render to reveal the cement coloured render underneath to produce the effect of a normal brick wall. Simple, but extremely clever.

The result is a rendered wall that looks as though the builders only left yesterday. …
