Legendary Furness Car Continues to Hit Tracks across the Country

DRIVERS in the B series of the Queensland Super sprints gathered at Morgan Park at the weekend for an action-packed two days of racing.

More than 100 cars made it out to the final round of the year.

Two of the fastest drivers on the track were Matt Clift, from Warwick, and Bob Hegarty, from Brisbane.

One special car that ran some laps belonged to driver Alan Don, from Brisbane.

It was once the car of late legend racer Col Furness.

"I didn't go quite as fast in the first run. I went okay in the middle run," Alan said.

"I still couldn't beat my brother though. H he beat me by about point three of a second in one of the laps.

"And he beat me about two seconds in total over the four laps."

Alan said the car came to him by a bit of unfortunate luck.

"My brother and I only had one car between us," he said. …
