SURF LIFESAVING: Noosa powerhouse Jordan Mercer claimed her second title of the season taking out the coveted Jacob Lollback Memorial Paddle in Yamba, northern NSW at the weekend.

From the starters gun the reigning champion was never in question of winning the Open Women's 4km event with an early lead and never looked back at the high profile national field behind her.

In the southerly conditions, Mercer held the lead from the first lap and looked strong in the testing wind out on the back of the distance course.

"Jacob was such an amazing person and it's an event that I love being a part of and is one of the best weekends of the competition calendar," Mercer said.

It's great to race against some of the other professional ironwomen in preparation for the Series."

Mercer was unstoppable and also took the Dash for Cash sprint event later in the day to show she is in good form and preparation for the upcoming Nutri-Grain Series rounds at Coolum in nine weeks. …
