How long have you owned this property and where did you move from? When we first moved to the coast from New South Wales in the mid-nineties we bought in Glenfields.

The boys changed schools to Matthew Flinders Anglican College five years later so we sold that house and looked for land closer to the school.

What was the attraction? Proximity to Matthew Flinders Anglican College and ease of access to the motorway not too far away.

Our work was at Caloundra and so this reduced our commute. We timed it, 18 minutes to Stockland Shopping Centre.

While we are central we live in a tranquil bushland setting.

We felt fortunate to find this block in what then was a new estate.

It was the largest block (1063sq m) and we designed and built our perfect family home.

We especially liked the battle-axe position for privacy and the boys could walk or ride to school and in the afternoon the sports fields were close by.

What room or where is your favourite space? We spend a lot of time by the pool enjoying the northern aspect.

It's the perfect place at any time of year and flows easily from the kitchen, dining and living spaces. It's a favourite place to entertain and spend family time.

At other times we enjoy the garden area overlooking the forest and creek which attracts beautiful birds and the occasional kangaroo.

Fortunately the house is very private and we are not overlooked by neighbours.

What will you miss most? The trees, tranquillity and birdlife.

The house is designed around the pool and the family is easily catered for in numerous areas.

There is a large games room by the pool and a second living area upstairs with two of the bedrooms and family bathroom. …
