THE Grafton Greyhound Racing Club will take a two week break from racing following this evening's race program, however the contestants in the Grafton District Services Club 1-3 win final will have their minds fully fixed upon a nice bounty prior to the break.

Yet another tough race has been served up for form students however leading Daily Examiner form student Rod Sheather is very keen on the chances of the Glenda Dart trained Chador Kahn.

Sheather noted that the keen railer was responsible for a great effort saluting off an unfavourable box 7 draw in his heat and should find box 2 more to his liking tonight.

After selecting the winners of half of last week's race card there is no reason to suggest that he is not right on the mark in the final.

Chador Kahn was having his first run on the track when recording a slick come from behind victory in 23.16 seconds which was only fractionally slower than fastest heat winner Miss Spritely which recorded 23.13 seconds.

Somewhat of a concern is Chador Kahn's first section of 8.63 seconds which is actually the slowest of all eight finalists, so for his supporters he will need to find a little on the clock in the early stages and certainly the right amount of luck in the key moments of the race.

A closer look at the box 2 draw for Chador Kahn does read well as One Lonely Girl in box 3 will run a straight line to the first turn which will give him room while Black Day Bonus in box 1 did show superior early speed of approximately two lengths in the heats so he should also be able to get a nice cart along behind that runner just as he did when they met in the same heat.

Black Day Bonus then drifted wide on the home turn which allowed the Dart trained runner to pounce late.

The Evelyn Harris trained Miss Spritely made a nice return to form with her good win and must be respected while the Darren Scells trained Blazing Sunrise has the speed to cause an upset now that it has gained a start following the scratching of All Apache. …
