HVY RTON: the term "Hero" has been so devalued and disrespected by it's pathetic description of sportsmen and associated tryhards that no real notice is given to the heroic deeds of the genuine "Heroes and Heroines" that we have the privilege and honour of witnessing in our lifetimes. To me, that beautiful woman who drowned trying to save a young boy swept off the rocks at Fingal Head is the real epitome of heroics. She knew she was not a strong swimmer but instantly and with no thought of her own safety swam to the boy's aid and kept him afloat long enough for the child to be rescued. New Zealand be proud of your daughter for she is a real Heroine.
