NORTH Shields extended their unbeaten sequence to five games when they shared the points with Durham City in last night's Ebac Northern League First Division game at New Ferens Park.

But only an 89thminute goal denied the Robins a fifth consecutive win. Dan Wilson gave North Shields the lead on 35 minutes, but three minutes later a floodlight failure caused a delay of 13 minutes.

A minute from time Aidan Haley equalised from a corner.

Leaders Shildon left it late before grabbing a point at Whitley Bay, who led by the hour mark with a brace of goals from Liam Hudson.

Seahorses goalkeeper Andrew Jennison was taken to hospital with an injury to his arm and Dan Gladstone took over.

Midway through the second half, Billy Greulich Smith halved Shildon's deficit, and three minutes from time Bay defender Josh Day deflected the ball into his own net.

This time last year Sunderland RCA had only two points, but they now have 22 after beating Marske United 1-0 with a Stephen Callen goal. …
