What will you do with this year's Wish money? We intend to spend any funds received from this year's Wish to help reduce the cost of our annual residential weekend away.

This year we are planning two residential weekends away due to increased number of girls wanting to participate.

We are taking the older girls to Seahouses and the younger girls to Gibside.

Tell us about your group.

The 1st Medomsley Girls' Brigade Company is a Christian uniformed organisation. Our group ranges from girls aged from four years up to adults.

A typical session involves working towards awards through participating in games, crafts, singing, cooking, helping others in the community and working together.

Our group have recently just celebrated our 50-year anniversary. We currently have 55 girls with eight team members and volunteers.

Who is the longest serving member of your group? Joyce Ridley has been an officer in our group for 35 years, closely followed by Jill Jackson with 33 years. …
