Quakers Pose Greatest Threat, Says Blyth Boss; EVO-STIK PREMIER

BLYTH Spartans manager Tom Wade believes North East rivals Darlington are his side's biggest rivals for promotion, the Quakers having already beaten Blyth this season.

Darlington replaced Blyth at the top of the Evo-Stik Premier League on goal difference this week when they won at Ashton United, but have played a game more.

Blyth have had a slight blip, picking up just one point from the last six, while losing their unbeaten record at Croft Park against Sutton Coldfield last weekend. Wade takes his men to North Wales to take on 18th-placed Colwyn Bay, who have lost five of their eight home games, before hosting 16th-placed Ashton on Tuesday.

Wade is keen for his side to return to winning ways and believes the sides likely to be in the top six can already be identified, Blyth fancied to be one of them.

"With their buying power Darlington will be up there," said Wade. "They have signed yet another forward and it will be a big game when we play them again in Christmas week. …
