7 Steps to a Kickass Mindset in Your Life

Article excerpt

HAVING a kickass mindset is so important these days. When I was in my 20s and things weren't going well, my mindset kept me in a bad place.

I'm living proof that mindset makes a difference. I've put together seven mindset changes I made to start turning my life around for the better.

What you give out is what you get back. I used to be one of those people who constantly moaned and looked at everybody else and thought that I had it bad and they had it good. I still fight with this today, it's only human nature and I'm not perfect. Once I realised my attitude and mindset was causing 90% of the dramas in my life, my life changed. I can remember when I would see a guy drive past in a Ferrari, and say, "look at that wanker"; negative vibes would stay with me. Now when I see that guy in the Ferrari I say, "wow, good on him I wish I can get one of them one day". So remember give out great things to the world, you'll get back good things from the world.

Be grateful for three things everyday (morning and night). My sister taught me this. We often lose sight of what we have, like: food, shelter, wife, kids, health, friends, work, your business etc. Make a conscious effort to be mindful of this. I'm not just grateful for the good things but also the bad things too (strange as it sounds). You learn so much from the mistakes you make or the bad things that happen. It creates a positive mindset to be happy for the good things and also being mindful to change bad things.

Give and you will receive. My favourite saying from Zig Ziglar is, "you can have anything you want in this world as long as you help others get what they want". I'm now 40 and I wish I was taught this in school. We live in a world today that is take, take, take. Not only does it make you feel good, but also it comes back to you in so many ways.

Strive to be positive. …
