104.7 FM music director Cam Kleinschmidt is attempting to raise awareness for the McGrath Foundation by crossing the Clarence with bras.

The effort which was borne out of personal experience a friend of his had with breast cancer, Mr Kleinschmidt is asking every female of the Clarence to donate an old bra to be linked along the span of the Grafton Bridge.

"We are doing this to promote the great work that the McGrath Foundation does," he said. "They are a group who deserve more recognition for their hard work.

"I have had a friend of mine who was affected by breast cancer, she had to go for a double mastectomy. I don't think she would have gotten through that process without the McGrath Foundation nurses.

"It is a testament to her as a person for overcoming this horrible disease and a testament to the great work they do with the survivors and their families. …
