Byrnes Shines as Black Devils Hit Top Gear for Runaway Win

BASKETBALL: PREMIER League basketball action during the week saw Black Devils runaway with a 67-46 win against Blue Devils in the men's competition.

Rowan Gray got off to a fast start for the Black Devils as he helped himself to 10 points before finishing strongly as his team gained the ascendancy when it mattered most.

Gray shot 14 points.

Michael Byrnes (26 points) lit up the court with three three-pointers to easily be best player on court for the Black Devils.

Lachie Wilmot (15 points) led the way for the blue version of the Devils while team-mate Daniel Green shot 10.

In the other PL fixture, Tigers recorded a 72-56 win against Red Devils.

The best of the women were played during the week as well. Lions 2 showed who was boss when it defeated Mummas by six points.

The Lions 2 side had an even spread of scorers and the team was led by Emily Kirkwood who shot 10 in the 40-34 win. Mummas were best served by Belinda Bailey who shot a game-high 12 points. …
