Joe Fights for Rights of Battlers; Firm Has a History of Standing Up for People

HAVING worked at both spectrums of the law system, it is representing the battler that attracts Toowoomba solicitor Joe Millican.

After completing high school in Toowoomba, Mr Millican joined the workforce with Mitre 10 for a year before taking up law studies at university in Brisbane.

He has been a solicitor since 2007 and worked with the Toowoomba office of the Director of Public Prosecutions until April 2011 when he took up a position with TASC - the Toowoomba Advocacy and Support Centre.

"Through TASC I was dealing with the battler," Mr Millican said.

"Offering free legal advice and helping people with mental disabilities.

"It was difficult but rewarding work."

However, Mr Millican has this month moved from TASC to take up an associate position at the expanding law firm Boe Williams Anderson.

"It (Boe Williams Anderson) is one of the fastest growing criminal law firms in Queensland," Mr Millican explained. …
