Many local eateries are planning specials for the big game this weekend.

One in particular that caught our attention was Gilbert's UK, where Fernandina Beach Hot Gator Wings and BBQ Gator Rib Quesadillas are on the menu. Who knew Gators had wings?

If you are so inclined, there's a Georgia Bulldog Foot Long sandwich on the menu as well.

Gilbert's UK is at 510 S. Eighth St. in Fernandina Beach.

MORE HOT STUFF FROM CAPTAIN D'S SEAFOOD

Nashville Hot Chicken is a staple in the Music City, and Captain D's Seafood has capitalized on its Nashville-based heritage to create Nashville Hot Fish.

The fish brings the heat ... fried fish with a blend of spices that should electrify the palate.

Captain D's has debuted the new dish in three markets - Nashville, Jacksonville and St. Louis. Nashville Hot Fish is available through the end of the year.

OPENING SOON IN FIVE POINTS

Buildout continues and a late fall opening is anticipated for Timoti's Seafood Shak at 1043 Park St. in Five Points.

At the new location as at the original Timoti's in Fernandina Beach, the menu will showcase wild-caught fresh seafood, chicken, clams, oysters, wraps, tacos, salads and soup.

LOCAL FLAVOR ON 'CAKE WARS'

Chef Nils Rowland of St. Augustine's Crme de la Cocoa will compete on Food Network's "Cake Wars," scheduled to air at 9 p.m. Nov. 9.

Rowland will compete against some of the best confectioners in the country.

ANTICIPATED SPOT OPENS IN UNITY PLAZA

Hotly anticipated Sbraga & Co., chef Kevin Sbraga's new restaurant, will open on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 220 Riverside Ave., Suite 114, next to Unity Plaza in Jacksonville's Brooklyn neighborhood.

The restaurant will be open seven days a week:

- Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday.

- Brunch: 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

- Limited menu: 3-5 p.m.

- Dinner: 5-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 5-11 p. …
