Elderly Women Scared after Being Flashed

PARENTS and residents of Bundaberg North have been advised to be vigilant after a man exposed himself to an elderly lady at the weekend.

Bundaberg North State School sent a letter home to students to warn families of the incident which occurred outside the school about 9am on Sunday.

The letter said a school staff member was flagged down by a distressed elderly lady who said she had been walking to the IGA when a man came out of the drain that goes beneath the road and exposed himself to her and he was also performing other "lewd behaviours".

"Given the number of children who frequent this area both before and after school and on weekends, I thought it was very important that you have this information," school principal Veronica Geiger said in the letter.

The NewsMail contacted the school and was advised they were not able to comment and was referred to the Queensland Education media department.

A spokesman for the department said schools deal with issues such as stranger danger on a regular basis and are always looking out for the welfare and safety of students. …
