Ringing the Last Bell on This Boxing Season

WHEN the last bell rings on Saturday night it will mark the end of another successful boxing season for the Rockhampton PCYC Boxing Club.

The club's trainer Des Upton is still working hard to fill the card for the last tournament of the year at the PCYC, but is confident he can field 12 to 14 fights.

"It will be a good night," Des said.

"There will be some quality bouts in the 12 or so fights."

And it will be the last bout for four Rocky boxers before they travel to Sydney at the end of this month to contest the Australian Amateur Boxing Championships.

Sam Walker might not find an Open heavyweight opponent in time for Saturday, but his three pugilist colleagues are slated to fight. Billy Evans in the under 17 54 kilo class, Brandon Hughes in the under 17 63 kilo class and Greg Toby in the under 15 63 kilo class. …
