A MAN who died during a hunting trip in the Northern Territory is understood to be Craig Jensen from Moranbah.

The 50-year-old (pictured) was hunting with a friend about 110km from the town of Nhulunbuy last Thursday, when he didn't return to their camp.

APN understands the man's friend returned to camp after being affected by the heat, but the Moranbah man never returned.

Northern Territory media reported the area the pair had been hunting in was known for crocodiles and wild buffalo.

A NT Police spokesman told media it was "pretty wild terrain".

"It was thought that both were well equipped for bushwalking, but we became concerned when there was an emergency beacon and he did not activate it," the spokesperson said.

His wife and daughter were expected to arrive at Nhulunbuy yesterday.

The man's body was discovered on Sunday following days of air and land searches. …
