RACING: Julia Simmons and her husband Adrian breed horses on their beef property at Clifton but don't sell any.

Why would they when they can win the Weetwood and Railway Hotel Allora Cup in the same year?

The couple and son Shane Simmons are the joint owners of Real Favulous which won the Allora Cup at Allman Park by more than six lengths yesterday.

The Weetwood is the most famous race on the Downs which they won with Mr Favulous but it was special to also win the Allora Cup as they live at nearby Clifton.

Julia was upbeat about the Sunday TAB meeting.

"It is the best idea I have heard for a long time," she said.

The win gives the trio of owners and Toowoomba trainer Donald Baker a start with Real Favulous in the Racing Queensland Summer Provincial Series $100,000 race at Doomben.

Last year, the gelding was third in the race and Julia is hoping to do better in 2015.

She said once their horses straightened in the straight, she was confident of victory yesterday. …
