A) Police pursuit

A Toormina youth has been refused bail after appearing in Coffs Harbour Children's Court on charges relating to a police pursuit.

Police allege the 17-year-old was driving a stolen car during a pursuit on the Pacific Hwy near Grafton at about 11.30am last Tuesday.

The vehicle - which was allegedly stolen from Beryl St on October 10 - was recovered in Toormina on October 14.

The 17-year-old was arrested in bushland at Toormina last Thursday and is due to appear before Coffs Harbour Children's Court next month.

B) Fire-fighters assaulted

TWO fire-fighters were allegedly assaulted this week as they responded to a fire in Coffs Harbour.

At about 8pm on Tuesday, the two fire-fighters were called to a report of fire at Dianne Cle when a Coffs Harbour man, 32, allegedly interfered with the fire-fighters' hoses.

The man then allegedly punched one of the fire-fighters before striking out and attempting to a kick the second-fire fighter. Police arrived on-scene and arrested the man who was allegedly highly aggressive and heavily intoxicated.

The man was charged with two counts of assault and hindering a member of Fire & Rescue NSW. He is due to appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court on November 23.

C) Assault charges

A TOORMINA man will appear in court next month following an assault in Newcastle Drive last Thursday.

At about 3pm, the man, 50, allegedly confronted another man before head-butting him. Police will allege the victim fell to the ground and was then punched in the back of the head and kicked.

The man was arrested and is due to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on November 9.

D) Man on bail

A Woolgoolga man has been placed on conditional bail after being charged with a number of matters last week.

At about 7.30pm last Thursday, police were called to a house in Nightingale St in Woolgoolga where the 19-year-old allegedly threatened family members with knives, damaged the house and a car, and assaulted a relative. …
