LOCAL FOOD BANK GETS $120,000 FROM PUBLIX

Jacksonville-based Feeding Northeast Florida was one of 12 regional food banks across the country to receive a $120,000 donation from Publix.

The grocery chain donated about $1.5 million to food banks in its operating area that partner with the Feeding America national food network, according to a news release. The food banks will use the money to acquire refrigerated trucks to transport perishable items donated by food retailers.

Other Florida food banks to receive the grants were Feeding Tampa Bay, Feeding South Florida, Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida and Treasure Coast Food Bank.

EPISCOPAL CHILDREN'S SERVICES TO HONOR 3

Jacksonville-based Episcopal Children's Services will honor the three winners of its 2016 Children's Champion Awards at a Feb. 23 gala.

The winners are Michael Aubin, Wolfson Children's Hospital president; Gary Chartrand, Acosta Sales & Marketing executive chairman; and Helen Lane, community volunteer and philanthropist, according to a news release. …
