Rosehill Barrier Draw Crucial to Tinto Race Path

ALL eyes today will be on a telling barrier draw for Group One Toowoomba mare Tinto as he prepares to embark on a Sydney feature campaign.

Last year's Queensland Oaks winner is due to continue her comeback to racing for trainer Rex Lipp in Saturday's $150,000 Listed Festival Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

The race is part of a planned tilt for the five-year-old at the Group Two Villiers Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on December 12.

But this morning's all-important Festival barrier draw could determine the final say on whether Tinto travels to Sydney or connections revise her summer campaign.

"At this stage she's headed for Rosehill on Saturday," Tinto's breeder and husband of the mare's part-owner Grania McAlpine, Scott McAlpine said yesterday.

"She's booked on the truck to travel to Sydney tomorrow and is due to arrive there on Thursday morning. But those plans hinge on tomorrow's race barrier draw. …
