A 21-YEAR-OLD man who allegedly led police on a four hour chase on Tuesday was told by the magistrate he was insulting the court by applying for bail.

Clay Kenneth Gordon Nash, of Kawungan, did not enter a plea in the Hervey Bay District Court to 32 charges resulting from an alleged crime rampage on Monday which left an elderly man and a woman seeking medical treatment.

The charges include attempted robbery, drug offences and a number of evade police and traffic related offences.

Nash has also been charged for three other offences not related to Tuesday's events.

Magistrate Graeme Tatnell was incredulous when Nash's solicitor Travis George told the court he had been instructed to apply for bail.

"To even just consider it is an insult to the court system," Mr Tatnell said.

Throughout the court proceedings, Nash who is average height and slightly chubby, alternated between looking to the ground and looking towards two women sitting in the public gallery. …
