CAISTRON TROUT FISHERY 07972759401 / NE65 7LG Fishing has been steady with fish still in the top metre at times. Anglers have caught on Cats Whisker, Fry Imitations, Buzzers and Muddlers pulled across the top and also fished sunk. From now the lakes are available for worm fishing.

CHATTON TROUT FISHERY 01668 215226 / NE66 5RF The weather conditions dictated sport on offer but anglers fishing lures and Buzzers did well.

Among the big catches was Colin Harris from Whickham 17 trout caught on Zonkers during the morning and Buzzers in the afternoon. Abdul Muhit from Morpeth caught 10 trout on Bunny Leeches while Robert Hedley also from Morpeth caught nine on the same patterns. Peter Davison from New Hartley caught 14 trout on Buzzers while Rob Frame from West Denton landed 12 on Bloodworm and Blobs. Ashington angler Ken Glenton caught 11 trout on Buzzers and Cats Whisker.

DERWENT RESERVOIR 01207 255250 / DH8 9TT Colin Boughey was top rod this week landing nine and eight trout on consecutive visits. Fishing the stream inflow beside the disabled platform, he used Green and Orange Powerbait Eggs and worm. His Monday catch weighed in at 20lb including a 4lb 8oz rainbow. Several anglers lost big fish this week. Ken Thompson and Dave Wafer landed some fine trout to 4lb 4oz near Millshield. Silver Toby and beaded Silver Humungus were effective. Zonkers and Orange Blob also took trout.

GRASSHOLME RESERVOIR 01833 641121 / DL12 0PW High winds, lashing rainfall followed by snow falls made fishing very difficult this week. Fly anglers caught some good fish on Dawson's Olive, Cats Whisker and Orange Blob. Mepps, Chartreuse Powerbait Eggs produced fish for the bait anglers. There is an end of season Competition on Sunday, November 29 with an PS18 entry with PS50 added to the pot for the heaviest trout caught.

JUBILEE LAKES 01388 772611 / DL2 2UH Anglers have had some good sport this week with Dawson's Olive, Olive Lures, Nymphs, Hoppers and Bloodworm all effective. Some big fish were returned by anglers but the best one taken was a 3lb 13oz rainbow caught by Keith Peel from South Shields on a Damsel. Any method fishing has now begun. …
