Region Set to Sizzle as Clermont Hits 41.4a[degrees]c

LOUISE Clare knows all too well of the damage the sun can cause if you let the slip, slop and slap slide.

Watching her mother seek treatment for the sunspots accumulated over the years was enough of a reason to be extra vigilant this sweltering summer season.

The young mum also keeps an eye on her 10-month old bub, Lincoln.

"We try not to go outside between 10am and 2pm, and we don't put him in the pool we have at home until after 2.30pm," she said. "My mum had a few spots on her face that weren't quite right.

"I haven't always been the best with keeping safe from the sun, but that sticks in my head now.

"I guess when I put on Lincoln's hat, I remind myself to put one on too.

"I want to lead by example, and it makes me more responsible."

And, it's a good time too.
