ANY caffeine-lover will tell you the holy grail of coffee would be the ability to make your own, perfectly creamy brew at home, every day.

Well, aficionados, rejoice - now you can do just that.

The Wirui Estate in Carool - our region's only boutique coffee plantation - has for the first time opened its roastery doors for tours, tastings and tutorials on how you can make coffee at home without expensive equipment.

The arabica plantation was opened by its namesake Zeta Grealy in 1994 and has consistently won awards, including Champion of Show awards at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Competition.

The estate has been featured in Vogue Magazine and in November won a gold medal at the national Golden Bean Coffee Roaster awards for the Best Australian Coffee (Milk) category.

It's hoped tourists and residents alike will flock to Wirui's latest offering, which is a tour of its vast grounds.

There, flanked by hinterland views, host and professional roaster Richard Bradbury offers an alternative to the popular paddock-to-plate experience with the complete "tree-to- cup" experience. …
