Council Looks to Lift Lid on Loo Issue

CROWDS were overflowing at the 4GR Mayoral Carols by Candlelight on Sunday night, and the toilets were too.

Leah Jacobs attended and said there was a "disgusting" lack of toilet facilities at the event.

She endured a 45 minute wait with a small child only to be confronted with the sickening state of the cubicles.

"Toilet water leaking all over the floor, dirty, used toilet paper scattered on the floor, and as the roll holders are only holding empty rolls and are padlocked closed, causing ladies to use the roll which is balanced precariously on the toilet seat rim," she said.

"I'd be surprised if a number of ladies didn't leave the park tonight with fresh urinary tract infections or hepatitis. I'm disgusted and enraged," she said.

Cr Sue Englart said council realised there was a problem after larger than expected crowds attended the event.

She said council would consider the use of portable toilets at the next event. …
