Club's Christmas Decorations Stolen; Woodbine Woman's Club Is Asking for Donations for Its Santa Event

The Grinch needs an alibi and the Woodbine Woman's Club needs some Christmas decorations.

As is typical for the season, the club hung the Grinch label on the people who took all the Christmas decorations from the Riverwalk gazebo where Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children Saturday night during the club's annual Christmas in Woodbine observance.

The Woodbine Woman's Club had decorated the gazebo Saturday, but they had to take it down because the gazebo had been booked for weddings.

They decorated it again Monday, and the city had installed a big Christmas tree at the gazebo by 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the club said in an email.

Two hours later, a club member discovered everything was missing.

"She came to see me and said, 'All our stuff is gone,' " Sutton said.

And it wasn't just a little stuff, she said.

"We had to carry it down there in a pickup truck," she said. "It was disappointing to say the least. …
