CLAIMS the Sunshine Coast music festival scene does not include a drug-use element have been laughed off online.

After the drug-related deaths of two Stereosonic festival goers at events in Sydney and Adelaide sparked questions about whether drug safety testing should be available at festivals, local music festival organisers said drug testing wasn't necessary at local festivals.

The reason being that drugs were not part of the culture at Sunshine Coast festivals.

But, reacting on Facebook, the Daily's readers disputed the claims.

"You are stupid if you think drugs aren't a part of the local festival scene," Kristen Taylor said, while Justin Darren asked "Aren't drugs part of every music festival scene?"

Samantha Quinn was all for the introduction of amnesty-zoned on-site drug testing labs at festivals that would give punters an analysis of their recreational drugs.

"This is a great idea," she wrote. …
