GYMPIE City Gym is showing flesh in its annual Relay for Life charity fundraiser this year, with some of its daring male members getting their shirts off for a 2016 calendar.

Gympie City Gym owner Julie Rimmington said it took weeks to find 12 willing volunteers and take the photos.

"Each model got to choose their own theme," she said.

"They are all Gympie fellows who train at the gym."

Despite the models having separate time slots for the photo shoot during the day, they could not stop themselves from making it to the first 9.30am shoot to "pay each other out".

Rimmington said the club had run raffles and other fundraising events over the past four to five years but this year decided to try something different after her daughter Ashliegh came up with the idea.

The club has already raised about $2000 this year towards the Queensland Cancer Council after entering a team (Gympie City Gym Junkies) in a motorcycle ride from the Ettamogah Pub to One Mile Oval. …
