THE changes at Elements of Byron are massive as the opening date gets closer ... and now the search is on to find staff for the coastal resort.

With an average 200 construction workers on site each day and a construction spend of more than $5 million per month, development director Jeremy Holmes said it was pleasing to see the project nearing completion.

"We have now completely filled the infinity lagoon pool," he said.

"This is such an iconic feature of the resort and it was incredible to see this expanse of water once filled, with its mosaic infinity edges at either end."

Tucked in around the pool is the sunken firepit, expected to provide an intimate year-round gathering space open to the public as well as overnight guests.

The fire bowl, custom-made by Murwillumbah's Quatro Design, was recently installed and ignited.

"The connection between the fire and the water is really something," Mr Holmes said.

"This was the intention but really, until the components come together, you are not entirely sure how the space is going to feel. …
