Jaguars Notebook; Foot Injury for RB Robinson

The Jaguars' top two running backs, Denard Robinson and T.J. Yeldon, will be on the injury report this week.

The Jaguars announced that Robinson reported the injury Monday and it was diagnosed as a sprained left foot.

Coach Gus Bradley said they should know more after he is checked out by the trainers.

He said the early report is "more positive'' and the arrow is up, but, "We'll wait and see until we find the information.''

Meanwhile, Bradley said the trainers have told him that Yeldon, who was inactive Sunday with a sprained MCL, made great progress last week.

"I even went in and talked to him on Sunday and we're hoping that progress takes place this week and we can gain him for two weeks [the last two games of the season],'' Bradley said.

The Jaguars will have an update Wednesday when they find out if either Robinson or Yeldon can practice.

If they can't go, the other two running backs on the active roster, Joe Banyard, who's been active only three games, and Jonas Gray, who was signed last week, will carry the load in practice.

They cut practice squad running back Jahwan Edwards last week.

Of the possibility of playing Banyard or Gray, Bradley said, "You see in the league where some guys will come in on short notice and play and do good things.''

He noted Banyard has been practicing with them for two months although Gray is picking things up quickly.

Robinson made his first start of the season against Atlanta Sunday and gained only 28 yards in 14 carries and fumbled twice.

Of the fumbles, Bradley said, "One was a handoff. You can't have that."

"The other one the nose guard did a good job,'' Bradley said. "He made a slant, came around and knocked the ball right out of his hands when he got the handoff. We've got to do better up front protecting the slants. …
