FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE PARENT TRAINING

Residents who want to become a foster parent, adopt a special-needs child or help in other ways can attend a St. Johns County Family Integrity Program orientation session 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, in the County Health and Human Services building, 200 San Sebastian View. STUDENT DONATIONS RESULT IN DONKEY KISSES

Principal Victoria Farrington and coach Lisa Adams of Annunciation Catholic Church each kissed a donkey named Xavier on the nose after students at the school raised about $4,000 in the annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Farrington and Adams had pledged to do it if the students raised $2,000, but the students exceeded that goal.
