O'Keefe Hopeful of Debut on Home Turf

STEPHEN O'Keefe will be hoping a green wicket at the Sydney Cricket Ground will not hinder his chances of a home Test debut against the West Indies starting tomorrow.

With the series wrapped up, Australian coach Darren Lehmann seems likely to go with two spinners for the first time on home soil since 2006, when leg spinners Shane Warne and Stuart MacGill joined forces.

With Peter Siddle looking increasingly doubtful with an ankle injury, left-arm orthodox spinner O'Keefe is primed to join Nathan Lyon in the Australian attack.

Josh Hazlewood also looks likely to keep his place after declaring himself fit, despite calls for him to be rested for the final Test of the series.

O'Keefe is chomping at the bit to play for his country on his home ground and will be looking for the wicket to dry out a little more to give him the best chance of playing. …
