CHARITY

AS THE tinsel and lights get packed away for another year, it is with a feeling of great pride that I offer my heartfelt thanks to the greater community of Toowoomba and surrounding districts for the generosity shown once again over the Christmas period.

In 2015 Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Qld in conjunction with The Chronicle Adopt-a-Family program, ABC Southern Queensland/Lifeline Christmas Appeal and the METROCARE Toowoomba "Loads of Love" Promotion were able to extend their support to more than 550 individuals and families in our region.

This outstanding level of generosity enabled Lifeline Darling Downs to distribute more than 8.5 tonnes of food as well as some small children's gifts to families struggling in our community.

The continued generosity of the people of Toowoomba and surrounding districts continues to overwhelm all of us here at Lifeline.

I can assure you wholeheartedly that your donations and thoughtfulness throughout this time offered great relief and hope to many families and individuals during the lead up to Christmas 2015. …
