VOLKSWAGEN has announced a raft of improvements and upgrades to a range of its cars for 2016.

New versions of the Polo, Golf and Passat Saloon and Estate have gone on sale this week, with first deliveries due in coming weeks. Leading the charge is the latest incarnation of the Polo Match. Replacing the current SE trim, the new Polo Match, which is available in three- and five-door body styles and with a wide range of engine and transmission options, adds more than PS900-worth of extras.

Among the new standard-fit features on the Polo Match are cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, front fog lights with static cornering function, tinted rear windows and smart new 15in Stratford alloy wheels. This comes with a price rise of PS100, giving the car a list price of PS12,735.

The Volkswagen Golf, which is now in its seventh generation, gains the Golf GT Edition and Golf R-Line Edition. The Golf GT Edition replaces the GT trim level, and gains an additional PS1,795 worth of equipment including 18in Durban alloy wheels, and a panoramic sunroof. …
