Bonny Mare Gives Magic Mollie a Memorable Day at the Races

JOCKEY Mollie Partridge revealed her next aspiration is breaking into the provincial and city circuit after winning on Bonne Cheval at Coffs Harbour on Sunday.

The Port Macquarie-based rider won the TG Jung Quarries Pink Silks Handicap for trainer Brett Bellamy, relegating champion Sydney apprentice Winona Costin to the runner-up stall.

Mollie's career has blossomed in recent months, not only adding to a growing tally of winners but sparking new-found confidence in her obvious ability.

"I'm looking at getting down south and getting my first provincial winner and see where that leads," she said.

"Riding against the best today has been a great experience and I want to do it more often."

The all-female race saw Mollie match her skills against Costin and top Brisbane jockey Tegan Harrison.

Also riding in the race were Priscilla Schmidt, Melanie Bolwell, Kaylee Kirkwood, Jodi Worley, Samantha Clenton, Sophie Young and Kasie Stanley.

Cassandra Schmidt watched from the rails after her mount was scratched, in the company of injured riders Belinda Hodder and Melissa Graham. …
