By Gordon SEATON Delaval Arts Centre will be celebrating the life and tales of Robert Burns once again with their traditional Burns Night supper.

Fans of the world-famous Scottish poet are invited for a night of food, lively entertainment and traditional celebrations on January 23.

Each year, evenings are held throughout Scotland and around the world on January 25, which was the poet's birthday. The event was originally celebrated a few years after his death Barr in 1796 by his friends, and now ,more than 200 years later, it is a popular national celebration.

On Saturday, January 23, the arts centre will hold its ninth annual event. Guests can expect a mouth-watering three-course meal including homemade soup, followed by the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties and a tasty dessert, along with a few wee drams of whisky.

Entertainment will be provided by the Seaton Delaval Pantomime Society along with Scottish dancing from the Wilkinson School of Dance. …
