Among the cases dealt with by Teesside Magistrates' Court on January 6 were: John Paul , 30, of Fallows Court, Cannon Park, Middlesbrough, fined PS50 and ordered to pay PS85 costs and PS20 charges for resisting a constable in the execution of his duty.

Wayne Middleton, 34, of Wrensfield Road, Stockton, disqualified from driving for 16 months, fined PS300, and ordered to pay PS70 costs and PS30 charges for drink-driving.

Kelly Ann Williams, 35, of Osbourne Close, Hemlington, Middlesbrough, given an 18-month community order with a rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to pay PS278.95 compensation for theft and fined PS1 for failing to comply with an existing community order.
