5 Things about Tonight's Winter Jam Tour Concert

Five things you ought to know about Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, the Christian concert that comes to Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena at 6 p.m. Friday. There are no reserved seats or advance ticket sales - admission is $10 at the door.

1 The founders will be there. NewSong, which has released 19 albums and hit the top of the Christian singles charts 20 times since forming in Valdosta, Ga., founded the Winter Jam in 1995 to spread its ministry. The tour has been a big success; last year it played to more than 600,000 people at 47 shows.

2 NewSong isn't the only big name; they're not even the headliners. This year's show features co-headliners For King & Country and Matthew West, along with Crowder, Red, Sidewalk Prophets, Tedashii, KB, Trip Lee and Lauren Daigle. Stars Go Dim, We Are Messenger and evangelist Tony Nolan will perform at a "pre-jam." Collectively, the artists on the bill have won over 20 Dove Awards, given each year by the Gospel Music Association. …
