SUNDERLAND will be relegated if they aren't active in the transfer market before next week's deadline, it's as simple as that.

Their February fixture list is a nightmare, which is why I was looking for them to pick up a win on Saturday against Bournemouth.

A point wasn't really enough for Sam Allardyce's side given the way the results have been going around them in recent weeks.

I don't think there's enough in Big Sam's squad to get them out of it at the moment.

I'm not too concerned about their options up front - there are a few clubs in the mix at the bottom who would love to have Jermain Defoe in their squad - but I worry about them at the back and in mid-field, where I think they need more energy and legs.

I like Jack Rodwell, but it's a matter of getting him out on the pitch. I'm probably not Lee Cattermole's biggest fan and I just think they need a bit more in there.

I have been doing a few more overseas games in co-commentating capacity recently and there's a player in the Eredivisie who I am surprised no Premier League clubs have looked at yet. …
