THE wet weather is expected to continue throughout the week, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting possible thunderstorms until Tuesday and rain until Friday for the Rockhampton area.

The forecast comes after Rockhampton was predicted to be in the path of a severe thunderstorm late yesterday afternoon, with a warning that covered the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Wide Bay and Capricornia.

The update also followed earlier BOM warnings for the Fitzroy River system where minor flooding was expected for the Upper Dawson River.

With the wet predictions comes a week of warm weather, and temperatures expected to reach the high thirties over the next five days.

Yesterday alone, Rockhampton saw the humidity rise to 90% at around 3.30am, while temperatures soared to 37.8 degrees.

It was a similar story in Yeppoon; the town experienced 90% humidity at 6am and a temperature high of 36. …
