Rocky Reps Shine at National Championships

SOFTBALLING siblings Tia and Jeremy Waters and fellow Rocky rep Tom Rutherford have returned home sporting silver medals from recent nationals championships.

Tia was a member of the Queensland under-19 women's team, and Jeremy and Tom were in the Queensland under-17 boys team.

Tia said she was pleased with her performance and had high hopes of making the Australian team, which is yet to be named.

The Queensland team were dominant at the championships in Ormiston. Leading into the final, they had won 11 out of 14 games, and in several of them held their opponents scoreless.

In the final, they came up against a strong New South Wales side, going down 8-nil.

Jeremy capped off an impressive tournament in Western Australia by being named in the All Tournament Team.

He said the Queenslanders went down 5-4 to New South Wales in a close final.
