WILSON KNEESHAW sensationally scored all five goals as Blyth Spartans cruised to a 5-0 win over Ramsbottom United at Croft Park.

The one-sided topagainst-bottom clash saw Blyth open up an eightpoint lead in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.

Promotion contenders Workington, Salford City and Ashton United all lost.

But North East rivals Darlington kept up their challenge with another victory.

Not since Steve Pyle scored five goals back in 1988 has a Blyth player gone nap, while Mick Dagless was the last Spartan to score five at home in 1972.

It was a great day for Blyth and in particular Kneeshaw, who has only played a handful of games for the club since his release from league rivals Darlington.

The ex-Middlesbrough trainee scored twice in the opening 12 minutes and then three in the final 10 minutes to floor the rockbottom Rams.
