Stockdale Is Victorious

VICTORIOUS is the new album by Australian rock band Wolfmother.

The backbone of the

band, Byron Shire resident Andrew Stockdale, is currently in Los Angeles promoting the album on American TV and for a couple of Grammy parties, plus some touring later

this month.

But Stockdale still prefers the Byron Bay lifestyle.

"I love being part of the culture of Byron, going out to restaurants and cafes and surfing, going to see some gigs," he said.

"I like the social aspect of living in Byron."

Stockdale moved to Byron in 2012 and has lived in Watego's, St Helena and Byron CBD, where he got to meet many locals and find his favourite spots.

"I think (Byron Bay) is getting better and becoming more cosmopolitan," he said,

"It's really growing into an even better place."

Victorious was written and recorded in Byron Bay, with Stockdale working on it since January last year.

"When I got into the studio, I had a really good sketch of what I wanted the other musicians to play,"

he said. …
