TECHNOLOGY struck me down again last week when I had to go to Brisbane for a two-day meeting.

Because I am getting old and doddery, I usually get my son to drive me on his way to work because I flip out with all the toad changes, tunnels, tolls and everything else.

But he had to head north, so I was on my own.

I have GPS in my car but no idea how to work it, so my trusty offsider at work set it for me and off I went.

Because I am challenged, I left it on for the whole trop and by the time I got to Brisvegas, me and the voice were old mates, along with all those people who rang me along the way.

Apart from not listening to her when she tried to put me on to the motorway off Coronation Dr and had to recalibrate a whole extra lap,

It was all good until I reached my destination, which was Burnett lane in the city. …
