DOG KILLED IN BRUTAL ATTACK Pet Dog Mauled to Death; Aggressive Rottweiler Impounded after Savage Attack on Silky Terrier

DONNA Pain is shattered after her tiny pet dog was mauled to death by an unrestrained Rottweiler.

The Torquay woman was walking her 8kg Silky Terrier Bobbie Bingo along the Link Mobility Corridor on Monday about 6pm when the vicious attack took place.

Donna screamed for help as she kicked the frenzied Rottweiler away, but it took three men passing by to release Bobbie Bingo from the Rottweiller's grip.

One of men lodged a stick into the bigger dog's jaw to pry it open. But it was too late to save the little pooch.

Bobbie's intestines were ripped out, back legs fractured and muscle tendons pulled from his spine.

There was nothing the vet could do and Bobbie was euthanised later that night.

The Rottweiller's owner, Flynn Mendez, surrendered his pet "Shadow" for impoundment yesterday morning.

The aggressive dog will be put down if found unsuitable for re-homing.

Mr Mendez said his 12-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son were playing with Shadow when she broke free from her choker chain to lash out. …
