ON SATURDAY 30th and Sunday 31st of January 2016, an extraordinary event occurred in the Dance City building in Newcastle. A selection of children from the Dame Allan's Junior and Senior Schools performed some of their wonderful dance work in front of a spellbound audience!

Both Junior and Senior School pupils danced a variety of choreographed routines across the two nights, with the audience made up of proud friends and family, as well as members of the public.

Our talented choreographer Mrs Waters, who teaches all dance at Dame Allan's, claimed that she took her inspiration from the art work of Salvador Dali, other choreographers (including Alexander Ellman and Jiri Kylian) and from the dancers themselves, with their energy, ideas and amazing talent! The children took part in intense rehearsals during school hours to perfect their routines, as well as a final practice on the Saturday morning before the evening show. It was a huge event for Mrs Waters to put together, but luckily she had help from other members of staff! …
