Music lessons and GCSE revision Brixton Wings, PS5,000 Founded by Medg Sullivan and located on Angell Town, this group delivers affordable music lessons to children aged seven to 18, and also offers rowing on the Thames. The grant will fund four extra hours of music lessons each week for Angell Town children, as well as Saturday maths and science revision classes for GCSE students.

Summer holiday programme Brixton Inclusive, PS5,000 This Lambeth-based charity, located opposite the estate and founded in 2004, offers drama, dance, music and performance projects for disabled and disadvantaged children. The grant will be used to run a summer holiday performing arts programme for 30 young people that culminates in a showcase performance.

Parenting workshops Home-Start Lambeth, PS4,950 Based on Angell Town for 15 years, this group supports vulnerable families with young children and offers advice, home visits and directions to find expert support. The grant will be used to run weekly parent drop-in sessions and five parenting workshops for families on the estate with children under 12.

Career workshops and mentoring Spiral, PS5,000 Founded in 2013, Spiral won the Teach First innovation community choice award in 2014 for its work on estates to break down the barriers facing young people who seek jobs. The grant will be used to deliver career workshops and mentoring for 20 teenagers on Angell Town who are NEET or at risk of dropping out of school.

After-school study programme Young People Matter, PS4,984 This Lambeth-based charity has been helping disadvantaged young people reach their potential since 2007, primarily through after-school clubs and peer mentoring. The grant will be used to provide weekly after-school study support and play sessions for 30 children aged five to 11. They will be run by a lead tutor, a special needs tutor and four assistants.

Community organiser training Angell Town Resident Management Organisation, PS3,000 The RMO's job is to manage 444 properties on Angell Town on behalf of Lambeth council, but it is also keen to develop projects that improve quality of life on the estate. …
